Hoffman announced his role in an exclusive sit-down interview with Extra host Derek Hough, where he shared what drew him to the show and the stories at its heart. “We’re trying to, humorously, show the viewer what an affordable piece of paradise looks like,” Hoffman said, “following these unbelievable couples and families as they buy their cheap-ass beach house.” On finding the voice of the series, he added that the tone is “a send-up and a tribute to home shows, very sweet and present.”

Matthew Hoffman is an American television host, narrator, and producer working across both streaming and broadcast television. He is widely recognized as the narrator and co-writer of Love Island USA (Netflix) and currently narrates HGTV's Cheap A$$ Beach Houses produced by Warner Bros. Television and streaming on HBO Max.
As a series creator and producer, Hoffman is the co-creator, series producer, and host of A-List Living and Fame to Table, both streaming on Hulu. He is also the co-creator and host of The Official Love Island USA Podcast with Matthew Hoffman, produced in partnership with Peacock and ITV.
A seasoned celebrity interviewer, Hoffman serves as a special correspondent for Extra and is currently in his seventh season as a celebrity correspondent on The Year With Robin Roberts on ABC. Beyond television, Hoffman is also an investor in multiple Tony Awards-winning Broadway productions.
